As you may have heard yesterday on Twitter I have a new political talk show that will air 4 nights a week on Fox Business Network. It’ll be a primetime show called The Independents aimed at all the mealy-mouthed, partisan faithful out there. Has the 2 party system totally failed you? Yeah, me too! Tune in 4 nights a week on FBN, and just remember, music and politics go hand in hand. I will always hold hands with you. #sweatypalms
To those who want to repeal Obamacare the President kindly invited them to eat a bag o dicks, and he vows that as long as he’s in charge the law is not going away. Republicans are vowing to repeal the law come hell or high water, or at least a big shift in the Senate in next year’s midterm elections and possibly a new occupant in 2016 who’s more of a red stater. It’s a tough series of mandates, laws and regulations to totally repeal, but it certainly has its detractors. The website will be fully functional soon , the rest is TBD. [NBC News]
Looking for some funny in LA? First of all, LA Weekly's list left out Flappers in Burbank. That place is solid and is a lot better than some of these dives. (PS. The times I’ve been to Nerdmelt, it’s hasn’t been the best. Just the ultra hip club/room right now) Westside is sweet (and my buddy Ed Galvez gets a shout out!) Meanwhile, although it’s not my favorite, and not the best, Jon Lovitz Comedy Club is the only club in LA that pays it’s performers regularly. (They gave me $30 for a 10 minute set which is unheard of in LA) I don’t think anyone gets paid at Nerdmelt and UCB… like, ever. There was a big controversy about it over the UCB club in NY about a year ago. [LA Weekly]
Oh thank the LORD! And we’re not talking about a 17 year old New Zealand girl. Some cheer-spreading food lover has been traipsing about the country leaving as much as 10,000 tips for kind servers under the screen name @tipsforjesus. No word if this is the son of God incarnate or just some reaaaaly, super generous dude with an Amex black card, but whoever he is, he’s already left over 50 grnad in tips alone. That’ll make you a believer in something! [LAist]
Has your morning been a little empty? Maybe you need to see willowy QOTSA singer Josh Homme and funny musician Reggie Watts singing about making strong, sweet taxidermy love. It’ll make you want to mount a stuffed elk, I guarantee it! [Pitchfork]

Nothing is better than skating under the stars with a cup of hot chocolate listening to Christmas carols blaring, and believe it or not there are lots of places to do it! Of course we have the list up for you, Ice Castle! [LAist]
