This Year's Best New Song... of the Week is "Hell and Back" by local band The Airborne Toxic Event and is off the"Dallas Buyer's Club Soundtrack.
Lead singer Mikel Jollett says the song came to him while he was on a five day motorcycle ride from Omaha to Los Angeles. During the ride he kept singing the song and he figured it was good and catchy, and we agree, which is why we're making "Hell and Back" This Year's Best New Song... of the Week!
We’ll being playing "Hell and Back" Monday through Friday this week at 8:10a, 12:10p, 6:10p and 10:10p.
Listen to the song below and be sure to download it as well!
This Year's Best New Song... of the Week is "Skinny Love" by Birdy.
Birdy released her self-titled debut album two years ago, when she was 15! On the album, she puts her own spin on songs like "1901" by Phoenix, "White Winter Hymnal" by Fleet Foxes, "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" by The Postal Service, "Young Blood" by The Naked and Famous, "Shelter" by The xx and and Bon Iver's "Skinny Love." We were moved by the power and emotion in Birdy's voice and had to make "Skinny Love" this Year's Best New Song... of the Week!
We’ll being playing "Skinny Love" Monday through Friday this week at 8:10a, 12:10p, 6:10p and 10:10p.

We love bands that not only play great music, but have an awesome sense of humor.
In their brand new music video for "Girls," The 1975 have a laugh about not being a pop band and not wanting to make a pop music video, but a simple video shot in black and white... at least that was their plan...
Check out the video and share your thoughts.
