This Year's Best New Song... of the Week is "Holding On For Life" by Broken Bells.
It always an exciting day when there's new music from Broken Bells. "Holding On For Life" is from their upcoming album, After The Disco, which will be out in January. In addition to the song, the band released a film as a prologue to the album, it's called "Part 1: The Angel and The Fool" and stars Anton Yelchin and Kate Mara (watch it here).

We finally get a music video for "Lies" from Scottish band CHVRCHES. The song is from their recently realeased debut album, The Bones of What You Beleive, which includes "The Mother We Share," a song we named 'This Year's Best New Song... of the Week' a few weeks ago. Frankly, "Lies" is arguably the best song on the album, right?

They're releasing an extended version of their debut album, which will have 13 new songs, including "Of The Night, their mash-up of Corona's "The Rhythm of the Night" and Snaps! "Rhythm is a Dancer. Watch it here. The new collection is called All This Bad Blood and will be out on the 25th of November.

This Year's Best New Song... of the Week is "Hell and Back" by local band The Airborne Toxic Event and is off the"Dallas Buyer's Club Soundtrack.
Lead singer Mikel Jollett says the song came to him while he was on a five day motorcycle ride from Omaha to Los Angeles. During the ride he kept singing the song and he figured it was good and catchy, and we agree, which is why we're making "Hell and Back" This Year's Best New Song... of the Week!

Birdy released her self-titled debut album two years ago, when she was 15! On the album, she puts her own spin on songs like "1901" by Phoenix, "White Winter Hymnal" by Fleet Foxes, "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" by The Postal Service, "Young Blood" by The Naked and Famous, "Shelter" by The xx and and Bon Iver's "Skinny Love." We were moved by the power and emotion in Birdy's voice and had to make "Skinny Love" this Year's Best New Song... of the Week!
