On air: Saturdays 10am-4pm
Before moving to LA in early 2013 I worked at a radio station in Seattle for 14 years. In that time I got to meet a lot of cool people and do a lot of cool things. ALT 98.7 has that unique combination of respect for the music and the ability to have fun on the air that I loved so much at my gig in the Pacific Northwest. It's a perfect fit as I learn to live and love southern California. I'm lucky to be working here - this station rules.
Important Personal Details:
I've got a tattoo of Sasquatch on my right arm.
I would like to see Lou Reed before he dies or I die.
2 of my cats have only 3 legs.
As a huge fan of vinyl – the idea of out of print records from bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Pulp and more seeing the light of day is really exciting.
As a reasonable person that doesn’t feel sorry at all for the current economic state of the major record labels – I’m not sure if participating in a crowd-funding campaign (like this is a high school buddy trying to get his film made) to make this happen is something I would be down with.
Universal Music Group is asking just that.
Nevermind the fact that vinyl sales are at their highest point since 1997 (thanks for the state COS) – if you want to become one of the proud “owners of limited edition rare records, which will also include digital downloads and personalized art prints.” – you’ll likely have to take part in The Vinyl Project.
