Our very own music guru Julie Pilat had the chance to go to Lollapalooza Brazil! Check out the epic street art + read up on the experience!
Pearl Jam, The Black Keys & The Killers headlined Lollapalooza Brazil last week in Sao Paulo & it was a trip of a lifetime!!
It's really interesting Sao Paulo isn't the tropical destination that you think of when you might imagine Brazil... that would be more like Rio but it's an incredible city!
The food & nightlife are to die for. It has a feel more like Manhattan meets Rodeo Drive. Brazil has one of the biggest emerging economies in the globe and they're gearing up for next year's World Cup & The Olympics.
My favorite part of the trip was seeing Major Lazer live!! Diplo & the crew played on Perry's Stage and debuted a lot of their new records from their CD that drops 4/16. Whatever you do... do NOT miss their set at Coachella!
The art and graffiti in Brazil is unreal. I also got to check a soccer game but my FAVORITE thing that happened while I was there was running into Supla!
One of my Cali friends, Koool Kojak, use to live in Brazil & perform with Supla. I ran into Supla at the Lollapalooza & told him I work at radio in L.A. and the first thing he said was.... "At 987FM?"
Turns out he's homies with Joe Sib & even played The Laugh Factory last year with Dead Sara!! It's always fun feeling being so far away & getting a taste of something Close to Home!!
Check out Supla's newest project Brothers of Brazil & their song about The World Cup!
